Retelling Light
One of the final assignments in the my studio lighting course last fall was to light the subject of a photograph in a style inspired by another photographer. I have always found Richard Avedon's evenly-lit black & white portraits to be powerful images that capture the personality of the individual while also illustrating the public perception of the individual. Above was my final image for class submission. But we had a lot of fun in the studio...
My new blog...
Last fall, I started using my camera again in a way I had not for over ten years - when I was living in back in Indiana. I signed up for a studio lighting class at City College of San Francisco. I am excited about photography again, but I have not really started sharing my images yet. With this blog, I intend to share those photos with others, and present the works of others I draw inspiration from.
